Q: Are Japanese chopsticks superior to Chinese chopsticks?
Japanese chopsticks are tapered, and pointed at the end, making it easier to pick up food. They have different lengths for men, women and children, making them easier to handle depending on hand size.
Chinese chopsticks are blunt and have no defined length.
Korean chopsticks are quite unique; flat and metalic. Harder to use though.
It should be very nice to use them.
The worst chinese chpsticks are for me those very long, black, square-shaped super-smooth-plastic one in some fancy restaurants. 50% of the food always fall down before reach my mouth.
Japanese chopsticks are little bit easier to catch.
Chinese chopsticks are low quality, often free, and come with endless amounts of poisonous substances.
But some people are just happy to handle cheap Chinese chopsticks, since they can't get anything better
japanese chopsticks wont kill you, so i would say maybe

I guess you never heard about the case of the Japanese girl that was eating cotton candy, tripped, fell, and the chopstick went through the roof of her mouth into her brain.. I remember reading about that in college.

I've owned a bunch of sets of Japanese chopsticks and I've broken at least two of them by accidently biting the chopsticks while eating too quickly.
The Japanese chopsticks are definitely more ornate, but other than that, I don't think they're better.
