Q: Are modern Chinese ladies & guys really different from the old odd ones?

I mean do Chinese ladies and guys of nowadays really want to live a happy life like we westerners do? The right of freedom to make their own decisions: choose their own field of study, choose their own love ones, choose their own career,  decide where to stay and make a living and above all being bold enough to tell their parents that they will not live with them in the same apartment with their spouses
