Q: Are there any foreign born Cops left in Hong Kong
just a subject that came up at the bbq
when the UK handed HK back.
where the goverment employees like the police that were not Chinese by birth aloud
to keep their job and life there
or did they get the bums rush?

I visit Hong Kong three to 4 times per year ("L" visa requirements). I have never seen a street patrolman that looks foreigner, they have looked like local to me. Kong Kong was returned to China over 10 yeras ago, I am pretty sure the "higher-ups" from the British era are all gone by now.
I do not think they were purged either, HKG habitants are used to a western type of life, will not have kept silence if that had occurred.
