Yes but the place in Shanghai is very poorly rated.  The direct answer is "no" -- there are ski resorts with easy access to Shanghai.  The only places for really good skiing in China are in Jilin and in Heilongjiang Provinces up north, about two hours by plane from Shanghai or an overnight train ride.

Many Shanghainese go to a nice indoor ski facility in Shaoxing, a well known ancient town about two-hour train travel or three-hour drive from Shanghai.  The facility is called Qiaobo Ice & Ski World that consists of a ski dome with two slopes (one for beginner and one for advanced), a conference centre and a four-star hotel.  It is a sister facility of Beijing Qiaobo Ice & Ski World.  The cost for a day session (4-hour) is 240 RMB on week days and 330 on weekend and an evening session (4-hour) is 198 RMB, and more on holidays. The ticket also covers equipment rental and lift.  More info can be found on its official website:

Not most Shanghainese .. and actually the place is rather poorly rated and thought of. It's nowhere near an outdoor sloap, not at all. Kind of the Disneyworld of ski slopes IMHO.
