I miss the shark tank and the family feud back home. Some shows that we aren't able to get here anymore. A year ago I was watching Shark Tank on the website but now for some reason it's restricted. Is there any shows here worth watching?
11 years 19 weeks ago in Arts & Entertainment - China
My husband and I watch 天天向上,快乐大本营(both are entertainment show,Hunan TV ),加油妈妈(dramas, Hunan TV) and 非诚勿扰(a dating show,Jiangsu TV).
You live here all your life, you know the TV. You know how to get the free movies. Why ask?
Not a single one. TV shows here look like unfinished "childish-boing, boing, laugh track" programs. Graphics slapped on the screen every ten seconds.
The news is interesting but after watching that for a few weeks you must wonder if anyone at all runs an honest business here?
There are some new shows coming based on US ones, Married with Children will be Married to Lowai, Al is still a shoe saleman only in China, his jokes will be about what he smells and sees on the bottom of shoes. Two and a Half Men, Charlie will do all of China while living with his brother and a ladyboy.Charlie will be drunk enough to almost go bi. Can't wait.
You guys are all too negative about everything. I love Chinese TV and especially this one I call 'Beijing Fun Camp' and the more whistles, scooby-doo sound effects the better. The more inexplicably placed the better.
I love what I call the 'industrial version' of those 'wipeout' obstacle course games (refreshingly they are light on editing) and what else?
'Take Me Out' is pure awesome. Funny the guy on my plane showed up on there it seems about a week after we arrived. He had fantastic cocoa buttered and sleeveless biceps.
She loves Mickey Mouse!
Another girl we met at the Forbidden City was filming a kind of 'Learn English' show for kids and we enjoyed that.
And... I cannot get enough of the Mao dramas. That dude saved a helluva lot of children from burning villages! Every day you can see Mao refusing to leave the burning village (under fire and encroaching enemies) he won't leave unless he get's that baby saved! But HE MUST! The old man of the village tells Mao he must not die for the child for China needs Mao to live. He (the old man, old woman, common villager etc) takes the baby and FORCES Mao to LEAVE!
The ending... the old man/woman/villager dies protecting that child.
I FREAKING LOVE IT!
If you do not love CCTV, HunanTV you're crazy and can you even imagine sitting down to lunch and 'Journey to the West' was NOT blaring on some crappy old TV cranked to 11?
Then you sir.. you do not appreciate China and just get the hell out anyways. Go back to your crapulent American pablum you love so much.
Li Yong FTW!
