One billion people here, there is bound to be at least one (though I would venture to guess much more).

I wonder if there's a curly blond haired, blue eyed, Chinese person and if they get stared at?

Interestingly, I've seen a fair few albinos here in Beijing. I imagine it's pretty tough for them growing up here.

I've never seen a true Albino (pink eyes white hair / exceptionally fair skin) anywhere and I've traveled a lot. Must be hell for them in the summers out here.

I've seen a fair few in Beijing. I mean not only the weather but also growing up in a homogenous society where there isn't such a broad palette of different skin colours/appearances in general, and the whole concept of being "different" usually frowned upon here. Must be tough

I know a curly-haired Chinese girl. She has freckles, too. Her parents both speak Cantonese, so presumably they're southerners, but who knows with all the migration they do. My bet is it's some recessive gene from "barbarian" conquerors in centuries past.

t91camp:

I'm not sure why this is getting downvoted so much. Is it wumaos who want to forget China had a much less homogeneous past? Politically correct white people who don't like the sarcastic use of the term "barbarian"? By all means, enlighten me. Moreover, I'd actually like to know if there are any specific minorities in China which are known to have curly hair.

There is a minority group (can't remember which one) where people have curly hair - i met a couple of students from this group. They were from the south of the country

what do you really think?......  I think naturally curly and I think she is a phenom that should be given all the rights of the holiest "Beijing big shot" for her beauty and individual looks ...  a nice looking girl that may have the original genes of the greatest Chinaman that ever lived.
