Q: Are there Chinese dating shows with expats in them?

If so I want in. How does one go about it?

And no, I'm not joking.

Yes, there have been. Echinacities has an article: http://www.echinacities.com/china-media/3-foreign-contestants-on-chinese-dating-show-expose.html

I think you'd have to live in the city where a dating show broadcasts or at least be there that day. Ask a Chinese friend to help you.

Yes , they film them in massage parlours. You have to ask good questions to make the broadcast.

1) contestant # 1, What is your favorite color?

 2) contestant # 2, Which is your favorite destination you have visited and why?

 3) contestant #3, How did your parents pamper you or play with you in your childhood?

 4) contestant #4, How would you react if I caught you lying to me?

 5) contestant #5, How would you react if I cheated on you?

 6) contestant #6,Do you like to sing/dance/act? Did you ever perform on stage?

 7) contestant #7,Were you fond of childhood fantasies like Barbie dolls, soft toys, etc?

I have seen it one time with a foreigner. An Italian guy, fluent in Chinese. The girl didn't want him because he wasn't intending to stay in China for the rest of his life. Great insight.

GuilinRaf:

Interesting. I had a short and seemingly promising date end when she discovered that I had no immediate plans of returning to the US.

Maybe he and I could have switched?

Haha, just go for a girl who is really attached to her family. There's no chance she'll jump ship on them.

I have an American friend who met his Chinese wife on a dating show. You just have to know someone who works at a local TV station. If you ask around enough, you will find someone who knows someone who knows someone who will be able to get you an interview.

Well I think you would have to speak chinese first of all. I saw a dating show and they had a korean guy and they also had a half chinese guy from Canada. Both of them could speak chinese. You have to send in a short video of yourself and wait for their reply. I know someone who knew someone who did that and they are about to go on the show soon.
