I have restored antique cars for myself as a hobby and to save money since the 80s don't do it as much now so im curious are there any professional antique car restoration shops who do this in china? Do people collect and drive antique cars in china that are 50 year old cars?
In China, old just means poor, there is no appreciation for classic cars. At least in my experience.
Also, cars probably haven't been widespread in China long enough for there to be classics out there waiting to be restored, even if people wanted to.

sure stigs good answer besides i hear a classic car would be wrecked totaled in no time the way chinese people drive!
i own a cafe racer, and bought a lot of parts on taobao cafe racers shops, not sure about cars.
There is a large collection of cars and planes from the early 1900s to the 60s but you only see them in the mini series on tv
My smile understanding of current Chinese car licensing laws is that once a car passes 11-years old it's supposed to be scrapped. So that stops a vintage car industry thriving.
Though I did see a classic 1950's Indian motorbike/sidecar unit in Guangzhou a few years back. Still had its original UK plate as well as a Chinese one. Don't know if the Chinese plate was legal or fake.
Let's see now... 50 year old car... would mean about 1967.. height of Vietnam War... what was Chinese technology like (given that they were up against the US) and middle of the Cold War. A little bit of Russian technology brought in. SERIOUS divide between rich and poor - very few cars, and only for the Red Army/CCP.
Unless you're talking antiques brought in from overseas in the last decade or so... and who is doing that??? (and, who would want to do restorations when you can just buy the thing - and then pay the HUGE import taxes on it!)
So - yes, there may be something... but chances are extremely slim! (and elitist)
