Q: Are we being watched?

And does it scare you?
Does it make you want to post pro-China dribble?
Or does it make you laugh?

Eh, probably, but I don't care. If China really wants to smash down on a law-abiding foreigner who occasionally posts not-100% respectful stuff on a forum designed for expats, all I can say is carpe diem. I'd rather drink hemlock than kool-aid.

Honestly, if there's somebody watching us, it's a waste of time. Who could take any of this seriously? So yes, it definitely makes me laugh.

For one who doesn't even have her visa yet, it scares me a little. When I apply for it, they might say.... "you post on that china site. We've read your comments and you can't come to China!"

Then I laugh, cuz it's all so funny.

For reasons I won't go into, and through no fault of my own (will...just a little), I know for a fact that I was followed by government officals when I first came to China. This lasted for about 3 or 4 months. Am I still being watched? Probably not, but one never knows. However, there are still some people who are not real pleased I'm still here, lol. .

Is this forum being monitored? As my students say, "Maybe." wink

You guys could be being watched.  But I always make sure to have my foil hat, so I'm safe.

GuilinRaf:

Dont be silly! Everyone knows that foil as a metal actually conducts electricity so all you are doing is amplifying your thoughts! Thats why I use newspaper. I am pretty sure that in China the presses still are made of lead, so the residual lead will blcok the signals, kinde like blocking Superman's X-ray vision.cheeky

yian:

Are you two stupid! Don't use foil or paper; foil for the reason already mentioned and thoughts leak out of your ears in ink form if you wear paper hats.

DaBen:

The foil does amplify, but it also changes the frequency wave, scrambling my thoughts. So with my hat, all they can pick up is very loud static. Plus we all know your newspaper hat is a waste. There's enough lead in the water here that the trace amounts in your hat fail to compare to the amount that is pumping throughout your body.

Yes; we are being watched. Not only that, but the messages you think are the ravings of lunatics are, in fact, coded messages about the people that post here. They have a long term plan in place...

when a wu mao goes through your old posts to answer the question "are you being watched" and tries to sell their sarcasm while trying hard to break some  specific punctuation rules then my friend you know we're are being watched.

thedude:

That's one hell of a point dude. Or we all could be parinoid.
