Q: Are WuMao's a real or imaginary problem?

It seems like most of the people who are new to this site get a hazing, one of being called a wumao by many of the others. I know the same people will haze me again, but if some of you can tell me are WuMao's a real or imaginary problem? Also how are they a threat?  Does the witch hunt ever solve anything?

In some people's mind they are real in some they seem fake. The internet is full of imposters anyways it's hard to tell sometimes from real and fake. People post fake pictures of themselves, say they are 20 when they are really 60. It's the type of world we live in today!

There is a big difference between dishing out your entire identity and being a wumao. Lots of the regular crowd on this site give genuine advice and share personal experiences. There is likely a lot of exaggeration and bending the truth among that, but overall, a lot of good advice can be found on this site, or at least food for thought.

The concept of wumauhood is completely different. Wumaos are state sponsored people, paid to post the right kind of topics or replies. The name comes from the fact they are paid Wu Mao (5 Jiao) per post (or so the legend goes)  Wether those who get a hard time on this site are wumao's is another thing, but if you trawl through all the old posts you can find some posters that will fall into this category. If they were paid or not I cannot tell.

You need to follow their scent. If there are fifty scents to follow, you can bet there's a wumao at the end.

Does that mean 50 Cent is an Wumao? I mean I always knew he was talentless...

I'm not interested in the wumao thing. I didn't even think it was real really, and still don't think they are as large in number as many believe them to be, but apparently they are out there. As to how one is supposed to spot them, I do not know. Had my share of being called one though in the past as well as my friend Hugh G. We're both very much British.

Why don't you just drop the whole thing. The more you protest your innocence, the less credible you seem.

I have another thought. Try posting some questions that people actually care about.

The rest of us learned by lurking for like 6 months. Do you really think this site would be a good place to go if every single person asked every single inane question that came to them instead of searching for old questions?

Everyone's posts were awesome and informative. Thanks.

Traveler I do care about this question which is why I asked it. I have no need to ask questions that I don't care bout. The Wumao thing is new to me, and I am trying to learn more. Makes sense right?

Traveler:

OK. Go and teach. I hope you get caught, you get fined, you get jailed and then kicked out of the country permanently.

People have tried to explain the facts of life to you, and you insist on changing everybody to your way of thinking.

You deserve every bit of misery you bring upon yourself.

Not all posts, just 3 posts, 2 of which you have access to.That master plan doesn't require a work visa. This post is to teach me more about china and this forums culture.

You're new on this forum, and already admin is deleting your posts for breaking the rules? The same as you intend breaking China's laws?

Now you want to teach us about China, and teach us the rules for the culture of this forum?

Did you not read anything I said? I want to learn not teach.

The 3rd post is still up, you just can't find it by clicking my profile.

OK. So you know how to edit answers to read differently after I make a comment.

The fact is, people have tried to explain about China and the culture of this forum, but you persist with your belligerent attitude. You try to convince everybody that you are right, and everybody else, including China, is wrong. You continually put yourself above everybody else.

So I will repeat. I hope you get arrested, fined, jailed and deported. Good riddance to you.

EDIT: If you have a third post that isn't on your profile, that means you have multiple accounts. That is also a breach of the rules. Thank you for informing us.

I corrected a typo it said :

 teach more more

Yes I made a typo, that should have read what it does now. "Teach me more".

Stop being obtuse and making assumptions that I am acting above others.   Remember you are the one who is posting on post I make and posting things which are irrelevant to the post at hand. Thank you for your information and your help with spelling.

Moreover a lot of people have taught me a lot, not by acting the way you are but my giving me clean and concise answers.  Maybe not as fun, but very informative.

You have far too much hate. You stalk me, you wish your bad voodoo on me. Just relax. Relax. I'll keep posting here hopefully we can have a proper discussion sometime.

So you changed your answer (corrected a typo), then criticised me for not reading  properly what you had just changed. That was designed deliberately to be argumentative. Originally you said you were trying to teach us, which you now admit, but you try to brush it aside.

Now you also claim ownership of the post, saying it is your post, and insinuating that I should only post answers that agree with your way of thinking. Sorry. It's a public forum, and it attracts free thinkers. I'll post what I think. It appears, however, you don't like free thought. A product of the system you grew up in?

No, I said you didn't read it, then saw maybe you misunderstood due to my typo. I still believe that you made a conclusion yourself, the typo was obvious and it would be ridiculous to assume I ask asking a question in order to teach.   Travler stop trying to accuse me of this, you clearly stated in your message to philsbravery that you are trying to get ride of me.

I made no such claims, I would ask anyone to be relevant to the any post. It makes sense.

we have seen the same post patten several times before

Im over it

thank you for the vent time and the points

but

if he is not part of the skiso family and just naive  he will get the message in time

if he is part of the  90210 and the nutty bunch gang then  it is Admins problem

Traveler:

Sorry Phil (and others)

With 981, I offered an olive branch, and invited him to join the team on my China blog. Now I get crazy China propaganda stories from him constantly. I have received PMs from others on this forum that they were also harassed by 981 after he got banned.

So I don't intend being nice to the idiot again. Or others like him.

Yes, Witch Hunting solves a lot of things !  For example, it can effectively reduce the Witch population of any given hamlet. And we know a good witch-burning can really spice up a slow Saturday night !  The kids especially enjoy a big 'ol bonfire topped off with that crazy hag muttering to herself something about 'innocent', lol!

If you are noticing any 'Witchy' style occurrences in your village- Black Cats, young children disappearing, cows talking backwards, raining frogs, etc. just drop us a line.
