Q: Are you able to use IC cards in taxis in some parts of China now?
I've heard from various sources that you're able to to swipe travel cards in taxis in Beijing, though every time I try and ask if I can do it the taxi drivers always refuse and I have to pay cash. Has anyone succesfully done this?

Yes you can do this if they have a sign in the taxi that says you can. I don't believe all the taxi's allow this. You have to check for the sign....just like when you go to KFC you can swipe your card and get your meal that way too. It's the same thing in a taxi, but without a sign I don't think you will be able to do it that way>..(

if only they could accept normal credit cards.... sigh this country is difficilt
