Q: Are you afraid of the CNY fireworks?
I sometimes see little kids setting off fireworks which are far too big for them to handle. I sometimes fear that they might fall over and start shooting big red rockets at me. Anyone else have this fear?
I don't understand how little caution people take in regard to these explosives.
I am especially afraid when my in-laws set off a truck-full of fireworks right near my window at 3 AM on Chinese New Years without warning.

they always think:
"whatever there are so many chinese, doesnt matter if some blow themselves up"
I'm not afraid, buTT....It never stops. Last CNY, I lived on 29th floor, and I still heard explosions whole day. War zone
.
Not afraid so much as annoyed. The fireworks are cool for a few days, but then it goes on and on and on and on and on......
On CNY, the night is like a raging civil war. I didn't wander outside, it was super cold and kinda felt I might get hit accidentally by fireworks. Not fear, just elementary caution ^^ Next morning, lots of red paper everywhere, nobody seems to care enough to mop the mess they made. Meh.
Agree with the consensus, not afraid, mostly annoyed and then by the end I feel like I've lost a little bit of my soul.
not me. I kinda like being woken up at 5:30am on Chinese New Year day. Best wishes for the spring festival and the year of the horse. ( going back to bed now... )
Well, it DOES bring up some memories that i would rather forget of my time in the military.
Me being the dumb noob that I am, ran toward the fireworks to get a closer look and got hit in the face with a remnant from a recently launched firework... No permanent scarring thank God. I'll be staying inside from now on..
