Q: Audiophiles: HiFi in Beijing?

I'm about to move into a new apartment and I want to get some new speakers for it. I've been using crappy headphones for too long!

Does anyone know of a good place to buy decent HiFi speakers in Beijing (other than Haidian Huangzhuang)?

I don't know enough about the Chinese brands to know which ones are decent/trustworthy. Has anyone has luck with any particular brand, or should I just shell out and buy something imported?

Thanks!

Check out the numerous audio shops dotted along Jishuitan. A notable shop there is JTD Audio (金通道音响) on 70 Xinjiekou Beidajie. You should be able to find a wide range of audio equipment there, even mixing desks and DJ equipment if that's your thing.

If your looking for good headphones I found mixstyle very good. You could find mixstyle at most electronic stores. I know they sell some decent one's at the apple stores here in china those are comfortable also. If your looking for a more hip headphone set one that can fold up and take up minimal space then your best bet would be mixstyle headphones....blush

I use EDIFIER active monitors...Chinese brand...have won many awards, they export em to many countries. Very loud for their size..I use them to make music as well. You can find em in most places...Have a look online first...reliable stuff!

Dunno where to buy em in BJ (Im in Xiamen)...but many are on Taobao (based in BJ). wink

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
