I have a few students who are well old enough to have stared talking but simply wont. Nor will they make eye contact. Is this something that I can talk to their parents about or developmental issues like that totally swept under the rug?

Good question. It's quite obvious that ADD/ADHD is not because I have a set of twin boys who clearly have the disorder and all the Chinese employees act like they're just a little "difficult & excited." I really think in Chinese cultures those kind of disorders are viewed as shameful or something to be embarrassed about so they'd rather ignore it
