Q: Awkward look because of wine crate?

When I came back from work yesterday, I realized I was out of wine. I realized because as soon as i stepped in, my Chinese girlfriend didn't prepare my cafe latte with a hint of cinnamon and cocoa. I told her she broke our routine and made a disapointed face. She started to be mad so of course I went to open a bottle of wine but Oh the horror! Where has the wine gone? It was nowhere to be found. So one two, one two I proposed we go buy lot of wine. She was still mad but it somehow calmed her a little.

We arrived at store, and to be sure the situation wouldn't happen again, I bought a big crate of wine. The thing is I was very tired because I had a long day at work - one of the intern had a breakup and wouldn't work well (it's hard to manage unproductive employees!) so I had to explain to her why she was doing terrible job today - so of course it was my Chinese girlfriend duty to carry the crate of wine on the way back home. It wasn't that heavy, just a dozen bottles (you're never too sure you have enough!).

But on the way back, a lot of people stared at me with a disapproval look. I tried to smile at them as much as I could, but they wouldn't take away that look. That was quite a cultural shock to me, because back in Montana, 'Merica, Baylee-Ann - she was like a sister to me, would always give me peck on the torso - would always carry the big stuff and everybody we were passing by would thumb me up, high five me or say "you the man, DuFion!"

So how can I change people stare at me? Next time, should i put on my Simba's sunglasses as to avoid eye contact?

When you create a monster you must feed it or kill it before it eats you. Wink

You are a man of your word, sort of.
You said you would not buy her 2 bottles so instead you buy her 12 and make her carry it?

Now she will feel entitled to drink it all.

He's obviously just going through old questions and seeing what's around. I think it's fair, not all of us have been here for that long and I think it's better to reopen an old thread than ask it all over again.
