Q: to be an english teacher in china do you realy need to have teaching certificates and experience?

We worked with many teachers over the years and found that credentials mean nothing. Some of the best teachers we have worked with had no credentials and some of the most awful had many. Experience, common sense and a positive attitude help much more.
Only if you want to work at a reputable school, which does pay better.
Not at all..especially if you look like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise

Absolutely not.
To get a visa you need a degree, that is all! (And that can be circumvented). The degree can be in toilet philosophy it doesn't matter, it just needs to be a Bachelor degree.
Of course if you want the top jobs and the top salary and especially if you want to teach in the first tier cities, then teaching qualifications help, (and they certainly help you to know what you are supposed to be doing), but they aren't essential to gain the job,
RE HGR above, quite on the mark including what can, may or has been sometimes circumvented. It is simply a matter of timing and of supply-and-demand.
Put it this way... if you think you'll be happy with 5000/month in a T4 city, go for it!
I, however, with my qualifications and experience, don't take less than 12,000 (after tax) in a T2 city (and, am looking at jobs that pay 25-35K/month...)

Definitely yes you need a Teaching Credential, if you want a good job at an International school. Otherwise a white face is sufficient.
