Q: Best bar areas in Shanghai?
What are the best bar areas in Shanghai? I'm meeting up with some buddies and want to bar hop in a few different areas. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can remember going to a collection of bars that were in an old bricked area in The French Concession but can't quite remember where it is due to being inebriated at the time. Cheers.

The ones inside the airport... While you are waiting to fly out of Shanghai.
Yongkang Road 永康路 is a tiny backstreet lined with bars catering to westerners mainly. It looks like a block party or a festival in summer when everyone's out in the street. There's also a load of bars around Wulumuqi Road South 乌璐木齐南路 like the British bar The Bulldog. Haven't been there for a long time though so I can't remember the road names. But just walking around you'll find some. I think that area's a bit sleazy though. I would recommend Yongkang Road for a nice summers day.
