Q: Best sites to find ESL jobs?

Besides this site, what are some other good sites to look at for teaching jobs for public and private schools in China? Please do not say Dave's ESL. That site has long been a hack site for recruiters and scammers. I am only looking for jobs in public and private schools. I am not interested in working in training schools, cram schools, or anything else. And, I am not into big cities, so sites like the Beijinger News is out of the question. Thank you in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Have a look at this web link. These are Schools in China, authorized to hire FTs. You can contact schools directly, however link isn't updated, so many authorized schools aren't listed:

http://www.anesl.com/schools/ info.asp?province=Guangdong& keyword=University&cmd=Search

Recruiters generally don't have Gov.'s authorization for Z/RP, so they can't sponsor Z.

I signed Contract last May with recruiter/School in Kunshan, Jiangsu, which transfers FTs to Fujian, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and more. They hold Gov. authorization, and deal with many different schools.

Yahoo-gle 'ESL jobs in China', and sort through the links.

I mostly use this site, and I have few placement agents. PM.

There are more links for Private and Public Schools on Yahoo-gle with search for 'ESL in Public Schools in China'.

In terms of websites, I would say that www.seriousteachers.com and www.esl101.com are among the most useful. These not only work in China, but also in (most) other Asian countries.

But the best way of finding ESL jobs is usually to do some research and contact any schools or training centres you want to work for. Most of them have their own (English) websites to start with. You should be able to find an e-mail address and/or phone number to get you started from these.

Don't most schools use a recruiting company so they do not have to deal with the visa and resident permit process?

Some of them will use recruiting companies. But if they are looking to hire you legally, they would still need to go through the visa and resident permit process. This is generally done by the employer, not the recruiter.

You will also find that many (most?) of the better schools are not on recruiting websites.

This is because they get many (enough?) applications anyway.
