The museum in the base of the Pearl Tower is really good. Excellent for photos. The Art museum is terrible, but was free. I recommend the Captain Bar for views of the bund at night, though the draft beer is a terrible value.

Nanjing road to the Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower (and it's museum)  and PuDong highest buildings, then back on the Bund and go to see hutongs, then some side-streets, and parks.

I recommend You to use subway - buy a card with good limit on it, and city plan. Then go all the lines, getting out of train in different places and sightseeing.

This is for a 1-day quickie Smile

Next days - You will know yourself where to go (because You had a good sample of many places the first day)

A:Well, doing a medical exam ahead of time wasn't actually necessary. I signed a promissary note stating that I was in good health and would do the result once I arrived in China. This was enough. -- norninman
