Q: Best way to get Chinese movies with English subtitles.
I would like to get into Chinese films more, but am having problems finding them with English subtitles.
I have tried Tudou and a few other sites but am only finding a few.
I am trying to get some or any films from directors such as: Tian Zhuangzhuang, He Jianjun, Zhang Yuan, Chen Kaige, and some of Zhang Yimou's older stuff.

first download VLC media player easy way to use subtitles.
Second go to www.subscene.com has most movies subtitles.

In VLC you can delay or speed up the subtitle track to match the screen but to much mucking around to get it done. So yes better to get the subtitle with the right name.

I suppose you mean online/free movies.....
first, make sure the movies had been released in English countries, then search the title plus "English subtitle" as the search keywords in baidu.com. You will be reminded if additional software/player is needed to play the movies. (beware the viruses)
I am just going to buy them on www.taobao.com
I can get most of them for like 8 RMB each, so this is a great find for me.

I use QVOD Player, it grants you access to a rather impressive database of foreign and Chinese movies and TV series which you normally won't find on youku/tudou/etc. You might wanna try it.
have to register...and seed after you download to keep a ratio..
so many known and unknown asian movies...it rules
