Q: Blown away by the customer service here
They always say "welcome" and "come again" in all businesses.
You are correct in that they welcome you and ask you to come again. But what blows me away is the lack of service in between.
GuilinRaf:
The lack of service, the rudeness, the ignorance of their product, the "that is not my job" attitude, the laughing at your pronunciation, the "ting bu dong" even when you do speak chinese, etc
. But yes, after treating you like spit, they will ask you to come again...
They say "welcome" and "come again" but they really don't mean it. It's just words to be repeated upon the sight of a customer. Nothing more.
It really is nothing personal; it is their job to say this!
haha if i chant "welcome" and then treat you like shat or act as if you are bothered by my presence because you must take a break from chatting on qq, does that really mean i was welcomed.
repeat after me, "actions speak louder than words!"
here is why i say wumaos illicit negative responses about china. you state sth untrue (clearly) and you force people to go negative about china in order to disprove your false statement. why not ask "tell me about some of your positive customer service experiences?" i could list a ton of good experiences. (i am low maintenance, i do not need anyone to wipe my ass) because i'm independent i always look to take care of things myself. i am understanding, so i take into accountant that the people here are not allowed to think so i should not bother them w/ complex tasks (like getting me the full menu at kfc instead of the promotional BS menu that has only 2 items listed)
i do not hold ignorance against them, i hold laziness against them. so i appreciate the effort and the welcoming smiles (the ones that look genuine).
I tried to teach customer service to Chinese students as part of an Australian Degree in Hospitality. None of the students could comprehend why westerners would behave so strangely to complete strangers. The whole concept of customer service seems to simply not exist in China.
I agree, the customer service is amazing here. I love going to the local KFC and asking for the 74 RMB bucket of chicken, only to be told that they "don't have it," and -- despite the fact that they openly advertise it -- that they only have the "other" bucket-- which is the same exact thing, but with 2 sandwiches added -- for 84 RMB.
No matter how many times I tell them it's the same thing but with two sandwiches added, they just get all pissy and try to convince my wife to talk me into buying it. No. I simply stated in Chinese, much to the shock and surprise of the KFChinese, "我不是个傻屄,我只想要这个 *points to 74 RMB bucket* (I'm not a stupid c*, I only want this)" She, and the other employees look at me in shock and then, once again, told me I could only buy the 84 RMB bucket. I laughed, turned around, called them pucking idiots and walked out the door.
That's just one of the many customer service fails here.
stan118:
does my head in when people tell you they dont have something, whats the point in having so much on your menu, and in your case them saying they only have the 85rmb bucket is just retarded i mean how could they possibly not have it, dont make the bloody sandwiches,i dont remember the kfc in london having so many things on the menu and then turning around saying we dont have this in fact i dont remember having to wait too long in mcdonalds or kfc in london for anything hence the name fast food
GuilinRaf:
Here, "fast food" means that you need to "fast" before you get your food....![]()
Hulk:
I had this same chicken incident happen in three different cities and I walked out the door each time. Why are KFC profits down? They're pucking idiots, that's why. Who in their right mind would turn away a paying customer who does NOT want the extra 2 sandwiches?
Chinese KFC workers, that is. I've had a lot of bad experiences as KFC... they're so stupid. And yeah, I had to fast...
LAR:
"silly..........mad?" He he. Yeah, he tends to go off at times. :)
You could teach a mynah bird to say 欢迎光临 and 慢走. It doesn't mean the mynah bird really gives much of a flying **** whether you enjoy your stay or have a nice trip home!
Well, that depends on the caliber
.22? ..38? 357? 9 mm short or 9 mm parabellum? Shotgun?
Some will just make a little (though still deadly) hole in you while others can really blow you away, though not quite like they show in Hollywood.
As for myself, I have never been blown away by customer service here, but that is because I stay away from the customer service girls who carry any kind of firearm. I am not sure if my insurance would cover me.
GuilinRaf:
Now, I have seen people blown OFF by customer service here, almost every single day...
If someone is rude to me I just go around the store picking up everything I see asking duo shao qian until they are ready to pull their hair out and finally walk away. I mean why follow me around and glare at me like I am a shoplifter? That is in no way helpful or wanted.
Yeah they don't even say it like that either! Now that blows me mind.....I've never heard them say 'WELCOMe' Or "COME AGAIN"
I've heard Wan li guang ling.....and they don't even say come again in chinese!
I dunno what you're talkin about man, the people here just keep saying good morning
Hulk:
lol. I have to teach the kids "good morning" in the afternoon. When I walk into class at 15:30 and they say "Good morning, Bill", I get a little...thrown off.
Amonk:
Now I am a little thrown off, I thought your name was Hulk Pogger McHulkington III, Esquire
Scandinavian:
shhh, it's just like the Clark Kent / Superman thing. Bill / Hulk. The only difference is that in the Bill / Hulk case, it is Bill that wears his underpants on top of the pants
Hulk:
My name isn't Bill. They can't pronounce my name. Good afternoon, Amonk. It's midnight. Scan, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe I can make them laugh!
Welcome and come again feels pretty normal to me , not much different than people in my home country saying "have a good day" as your leaving.
What blows me away in China though is the LACK of customer service intbetween the welcome and come again parts
.
