Q: BOC.just told me, in person, that I can't exchange money until after the holiday is this for real?
I used to send Canada money here and the wife just went to an ATM to get it in RMB....
Now I have to go in every month, with my passport, to change it to RMB.
could I just the money ( 
to my wife and the machine (ATM) will convert it like before?

It's true just live with it wait a while then go exchange your money when the time is right. The time is not right during the holiday's as people won't be working there or that's what I've heard.

None of the banks here are even open to ask a question. I think you must wait until next week, or maybe as soon as Thursday.
