I see it quite regularly, so it must be acceptable. I once seen a woman with the hugest silver dollars I have ever seen, blew my mind. Worthy of the guiness book.

I saw mothers feeding their children couple of times. They were sitting in parks or on the sidewalks. It does not bother me if you do it discreetly. You can't just put your breasts out like that... have some decency... At one point, the child is hungry, but what is also important is the fact that people look at you.

It's the most natural thing, when babies, are hungry they don't wait for the correct place,in case some knob may get uptight about nature

What could possibly be 'indecent' about feeding a baby in the way nature intended?

I think you need to consider why YOU find bare breasts indecent, what is going through your mind when you see them? Consider that and I think you will quickly find out who has the problem and I'll give you a clue, it isn't the mother!

Will only say two things :

breastfeeding in public is common in China.  Whenever and wherever the kid is hungry, the breast pops out and he or she gets the feeding.  i see it many times.

Chinese people do not look.  But foreigners do !.

I had a young Chinese couple staying with me, thy are 27 years of age, recently married, one baby boy.  The mother will feed the baby making no difference if I was present or not.  after a few days, it stopped bothering me.  Guess I got used to it.

Why shouldn't it be acceptable? It's natural. When the baby is nursing, you can't see much and mother can half cover the baby and breast with her blouse.

Hugh.G.Rection:

Thank you TedDBayer, I totally agree!

Imagine using the body parts for what they were designed for, how awful! (end of sarcasm).

If people find it uncomfortable for the breast to be bared in public to feed a baby, they need to have a chat with themselves about the direction of their moral compass.

It's something I've yet to see in China.  Most new mothers I know are all about the formula (always asking if I can bring some back from the US).
