Q: Buying frozen food in China?

Locals don't have to make counterfeit goods laced with poison to get you.

They don't seem to quite understand that frozen food should be frozen all the way until the customer picks it from the freezer.

It's easier to notice with Ice cream but when you buy a packet of meat, you're screwed, sometimes you won't smell it until after or while you're cooking it

Last time I ordered groceries from the supermarket app, the chicken arrived in a bloody mess.

I recently bought Chicken wings and after cooking them they smelled rotten, some other bags had smelled rotten also only 2 out of the 4 were ok.

icnif77:

Quit buying frozen food. I've never purchased anything frozen in China ... or maybe I did, but it was mostly veggi (corn, peas...).

I like fresh (looking) anything of meat.

All frozen wings or shrimp are too big in size, i.e. 'old/big chicken, good soup'... or 'chewy wings'.

Yep, chewy describes the ones that weren't rotten

Once, you have larger chicken wings or legs, you should boiled them some 15-20' and then sick them into hot frying oil. Boiling will take away chewiness ... Talking to a 'tricky-pro-chef' ... here-o

I almost never bought frozen food in China - never saw the need when you could buy it fresh anywhere but one time I picked up some frozen jiaozi from a supermarket and oh my god did I pay for that mistake.

It wasn't the worst food poisoning I've had but it was still pretty f*****g unpleasant.

I have seen some sellers who sell stuff online and pack it with dry ice packs. Might add to the cost.
