Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookQ: Can anyone help me find someone to hold my hand and cross the street with me in China?
Is it just me, or has there been an uptick of helpless question on this forum? EDIT: Oh, they were actual people? I just assumed that they were troll accounts. Now I kind of feel like an ass. I try to be helpful to bona fide China newbies...I was pretty helpless when I first showed up. I mean, I knew how to get a job and everything, but....
I thought it was just me too.
Question:
"I'm going to do something foolish because i have not bothered to do any due diligence"
Answer from experienced workers:
"don't do it for X, Y, Z reasons"
Q: I'm still going to do it
A: don't do it for all the reasons outlined
Q: I'm still going to do it.
A: (sigh)
Q: How do you undermine the credibility of a site?

Actually I'm more surprised we haven't had the flood of "F & M" visa teachers come here with tons of questions about problems or renewal methods, I guess it's a sign the new Policy is working. Yeah it's boring around Echina these past 9 months.
not real serious, but
I wil certainly hold your hand, and we can cross any street safely, and I will buy dinner at any place you desire. In return I need some paperwork done, I am pretty much illiterate and lazy....my drivers license need s to be renewed, my passport, my residence permit, and my credit card.... all soon...... can you handle it? some yesterday! gotta be in Guangdong though.
Ironically the guys asking those questions have more accurate information about the rules regarding work visas and other legalities. We only come to know when people try to answer them. As Sorrel mentioned they get answers and go on ignoring everything being told.
I'm thinking, it's most likely one person is asking Qs and A them with the different handle. Similar like 'playing ping-pong alone'.
I can cross the road with closed eyes. Alone.
It must be some kind of cultural difference I'm not aware of. It tends to be non nativE speakers non Europeans who ask in broken English, how to get an English teaching job. I think western culture is more on you own, do it yourself, whereas in other countries this is how it's done. Maybe I'm analysing it too deeply.
thefidu881:
"It's tends to be...." need a doctor to fix the broken limb?
'non native speakers' of.....German/French/English?
Let me guess, a " Naive English speaker"? lmao
dokken:
Your reply was also a bit incoherent. I meant non-native English speaking person from outside Europe. I am lazy and I don't bother to write properly, partly because I use my Ipad. "tends to be non.....". What is wrong with that? I never claimed to be an English expert, I was just curious about cultural differences.
BTW you come across as quite an angry person. If all you want to do is vent, is it not time you went home? I don't think you have ever written anything slightly positive about China or illuminating about your experiences here. It's quite grating to read. Your reply here was also quite bitchy. I'd hate to be your boyfriend. The very definition of bunny boiler
thefidu881:
I am sorry if you found my reply 'bitchy' and I agree it is sarcastic instead. The reason I mentioned your mistakes was that you acted like an ' English police' and it seems quite odd to complain about someone's broken English in 'broken English'. Had you said it is the cultural difference perhaps one could have agreed with.
By the way two out of the three posters are from the 'DIY' culture as they have mentioned.
icnif77:
Please Fidu, let me answer this one.
Proud, strong Dokken can 'bad-fokin'-mouth' anybody on anon Board, even female poster? Bravo!
When proven posting lies, can return with different handle (my assumption) and Q 'how to get RP without exiting China?'.
Answer appeared right away by the 'fresh' handle that 'not exiting China and getting RP is possible', followed up by Dokken's reply: 'you see I didn't lie'.
However, original Q was about Working visa and RP, and not about Business visa turned to RP, which doesn't entitle holder to work'. Just a tad difference, buTT......who cares.
Another thing was, reliable As were posted by several old-timers in China, who talk out of their own experiences.
'I swear, I wasn't required to exit China, and I have RP' was statement of this moron.
However I care about posting realities in China, because I find it obscene to lie on anon Board, and posters can maybe be in real troubles, because lie was posted.
Psychiatrists can do wonders, Dokken!
I think, you deserve an up-vote, just because you're writing on your Ipod, and not on the free wi-fi shop's computer.
dokken:
@ icnif I'd argue with you, but you can only try to be coherent if you copy and paste text. You are naturally incoherent when you write, but you deliberately make your questions responses more incoherent when you write so that it can masquerade as intellectual discourse. In fact it is just gibberish nobody bothers to try and digest.
You also post narrow minded anti-American propaganda and tie it very loosely to a question about China so admin doesn't delete it. I question this and suddenly I'm a bully? Nobody wants to read this stuff, nobody can decipher it. You are simply looking to troll Americans.
You emigrated to America, but never say what country you come from. I think this is devious. I suspect whatever country you are from, also could be criticized for making foreign policy mistakes. It's so you can criticise America without having to defend anything your own country has done
regarding my rp I was just curious. I came on an l visa, didn't leave ended up with an do in my passport. Was just wondering if some civil person could have enlightened me as to what my boss did it and if I was legal. I did not known the nuances of all the visa stuff. But you are not civil. Rather than discuss it with me, you just said no no didn't happen. Calling somebody you do not know a liar. Not civil
dokken:
@fidu I did criticize non native speakers for asking in broken English. p;I think it is fundamentally dishonest to pretend to paying customers in a trying school or students in a public school that you are a native speaker. What does icnif say when a Chinese asks if he is a native English speaker? He lies and I think that is dirty. The Chinese have to take him at his word. That is why I wrote the broken English comment. Many on this forum have asked in broken English how to get an English teacher job. That is fact. Not being snobbish about it I just think it's wrong. Questions on visa issues are generally fair enough. It's hard to get the information on visa s and rp quickly but posters on here can give them info quickly. I don't see the problem.
Regarding the other part of that statement I was just remarking on cultural differences in methods of job hunting. I was not inferring superiority. Engage with me before you immediately write something sarcastic/bitchy
thefidu881:
You sire are delusional in your assumptions and your 'broken English' is making me believe as if you were once on board of a plastic boat headed to the US. Even if you were born in a 'naive' English speaking country it has nothing to do with your skills rather with something that fortunately(for you) opened in a 'naive' English speaking country. Fortunately it is China where a white skinned truck driver from 'naive' English country gets hired as compared to a qualified 'non naive' English speaker. Anyway, you did infer superiority by mentioning 'non naive' and 'broken English' in your comment despite your own English needs a physician and schooling.
How come you claim that icnif lies that he is a 'naive' English speaker while he has mentioned numerous times that he is not a 'naive English speaker'?
dokken:
I don't follow what you are saying. What assumptions? Also I agree that my written English could and should be better. I disagree with you saying it does not matter if you are a native speaker or not. Few people have such natural ability in a 2nd language that they can speak it to native standards. I can study Chinese for the rest of my life but even then, Chinese would know I'm not a native speaker. This matters when you are teaching adults who are seeking to become fluent.
Icnif s English is very good. But he should not be teaching above primary school level in China. I don't grudge non native speakers becoming English teachers in China. What I do hate is the lies to the students who ask you what country you are from.
Now after reading your response, I feel a lot better about my written English. You've got a pretty face but your English sucks
thefidu881:
Peace...dokken...not really into confrontations but you do sound weird if you are a teacher or whatever...
dokken:
Yep peace. I was just responding to your points and your initial bitchy/sarcastic reply. Not really into confrontations either
Shining_brow:
Are you 3 having fun in your own little private battlefield?? :p
fada:
I dont really care what other people tell parents, none of my business frankly, what bothers me is when I am expected to lie to said parents to keep it going. Now that is where things usually go pear shaped.
I can find someone to hold any body part that you want, only 100y
icnif77:
Always when I see this thread on the top, my A is always 'yes!'
Sorry, I don't have the correct visa to assist people in road crossings or hand holding.
