If marrying a foreigner, she needs to go to the foreign marriage office nearest her registered hometown, normally in the provincial capital.

It's possible other people have had different experiences, but every foreigner I know that has married a Chinese National had to go to the hometown.

Except me. My wife moved her houkou from her hometown years ago to the city. But we still had to go to the office nearest her houkou.

Scots has got it 100%, so buy that plane ticket and meet her family. Good luck, sorry don't have any Echina Hong Bao's yet.

I married a Chinese woman and we had to go to the middle of Henan province (what a shitehole) to where her hukou was.

It's a mission but just get it done.

Apply for Hukou Transfer.

Then go to the latest Hukou marriage department to register.

But clearly the op doesn't care. Another troll account created by the admin?
