Q: Can Chinese use faxed documents when applying for EU visa?

So I'm still waiting on an invitation letter to arrive in the post so that my husband can apply for a short-stay Schengen tourist visa. I'm freaking out because the letter still hasn't arrived in the mail and time is running out. Would embassies accept faxed invites? Or it possible to get a tourist visa without an invitation by someone living in the Schengen zone?

Who sent you an Invitation letter? I am assuming, probably your relatives. If so, document should be mailed with 'traceable mail'!

I am not sure about 'faxed' documents, but here is the web link, where you can find reliable info ('Contact us') on the bottom of page.

sure have to be original letter, better to send by DHL,UPS or so. other ways, like Postal service, take around 10 days to arrive here.

If it is your husband, why do not you give him invitation ? I have registered my wofe for visa interview on our embasy online system, she got hers photos, air ticket, insurance bill, passport and filled the form of visa aplication. I was the inviting person, write my address  and hola, all job done, 2 weeks later she picked up visa.

Did you also have to provide bank account shitz from your wife?

Its quite retarded that if you have an obligation letter that you still have to show you have money

gonna fly back in December and now we wanna apply for a visa :/

Nope, no need to show nothing more. It was maybe coz we already know each other on the embassy and because we already have a kid, so it maybe made things easier...

Some EU countries you can submit the invitation online. It's just an electronic form and it goes straight to the relevant authority. You should ask the embassy/consulate, but as a general rule, in Europe, paper fraud is punishable by prison, so you can expect people to not fake things like a fax or scan. I'd go for haing a high quality scan to pdf rather than a fax.

Scandinavian:

of course different countries have different rules, even though Schengen is ONE area, it is MANY rule-sets that apply.
