Q: Can a foreigner buy a local term insurance policy like for accidents?

As a foreigner, can I only purchase insurance policies from international assurances like Prudential, Aviva, AIA? Can't I buy from the local China Life &/or China Ping'an insurance companies.

Note: I am referring to general term policies like an accident policy of assured RMB 500,000 for the normal accident claims within China; terms & conditions per policy terms. Pse note my wife is a local and she will be the beneficiary.

Thank you.

You have the choice either international or local insurance policies.

Each insurance company may have different policies or conditions, but they all propose this kind of accident policy or sometimes it's included together with the health insurance policy.

For instance, mine covers both health and accidents. But I'm sure you can get only the accident one.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
