If they give up their original nationality and become Chinese,they can join the party and become officers in the government.

Yes, I actually attended one meeting out of curiosity and was asked if I was interested in joining!  It does actually give you a career advantage to belong to the party whether you agree with their philosophies/ideologies or not.  In fact Renmin University did a survey of 2010 graduates and learned that 72% of them joined the party specifically to enhance their chances of landing a decent job.
