I have been teaching in China at the University and High School level for 5 years. This year I turned 65 and I am having a difficult time getting someone to hire me due to the difficulty of getting a Z visa. However, I know of several people who have taught past the age of 65 at the University level and at English Training schools. They were able to obtain Z visas, although they had to pass a physical exam. I am energetic, motivated, and in excellent physical condition, but cant get a job teaching full time.

the root of the problem is that once you are 65 years of age, the local health insurance will not cover you, and without it you can not be offered a job. I do know a fellow who is still teaching at 87 years of age, and he does it legally by buying his own health insurance and showing proof of it, and then his employer does take care of the rest, including visa and related paperwork. But the insurance coverage comes out of his pocket. and he is of clear mind and excellent health too.
maybe you should explore this option and see if available with your current employers and local PSB.
