Arrive as an investor willing to spend millions, set up your own business.

Chinese officials will be throwing themselves at you and give you the visa you want.

if you are an ordinay 'Joe soap' who just wants to work there, at the moment, probably not a chance.

coincidently I was just speaking to a friend who is still 'trapped' in China.

Can not leave, and knows how difficult it is for foreigners to arrive in to work.

Even as a Private Equity Investor, the Anhui authorities don't give a shit. I personally invested a great deal. I still have to beg for a spousal visa like a new immigrant each time. 20 years in this country later. They make you run up and down, get this, get that, do this, do that, all information changes as they wish, and they can kick you out any time they want, no reasons needed.
