Q: Can I apply for a job on a Q2 visa?
Hi,
I'm currently on a Q2 visa visiting my family here in China, which allows me a max 180-day stay at a time. There's also a possibility that I might need to stay longer due to a family necessity. Given my foreign work credentials I have thought about looking for work if I need to stay longer. Is that allowed?

You can apply for jobs but can’t legally work on that visa.
If youre offered a job the employer would need to apply for a foreigner work permit for you.
youd need to provide de them with authenticated/notarize copies of your highest degree & non-criminal records check from your home country.
Once they got the work permit notification you’d need to leave China to apply for a Z-visa. Generally in your home country but sometimes possible in Hong Kong.

It seemed like a loaded question to me. Perhaps I'm just a bit paranoid.
Now there is away of working on a Q visa that just keeps getting better and better.
For ESL teachers: Teach English online, there are tons of companies now, VIPKids is low pay but they give steady hours and can make 15,000 if you work weekends, DADA_English pays more.
So how or why is it legal?
1. You are using the internet you pay for.
2. Any of these online companies can transfer the salary to your Overseas Bank account and or Chinese spouse. As long as its not going into a bank in your name in China than thats perfectly fine.
Go to Daves ESL Cafe and click jobs than find "international Jobs". and use the browser feature "find on page" and type in "online" and you'll find tons of online jobs..

I came home from work tonight and the daughter wanted to continue a lego build. Wife said no... homework. It was a wechat English lesson her pals had told her about. A free trial. I asked my wife, so you are allowing a random stranger to talk to our daughter online? Do you know anything about him? She said no... its a free trial. I am not comfortable with this.

Alan, I can understand your concern but whose wechat account is it? Can this “teacher” contact your daughter separately or only through your wife’s wechat account?

Yeah I wouldn't like that too, I'd prefer to use a company with a platform like DADA English or Magic online English, I actually hate wechat now

I was recently added to a group that consists of about a dozen 8 year old kids. I am the only adult. My wife and I are friends with a few of the kid's parents. They want to chat in English. I have know most of them for a few years and they are just beginning to put English sentences together. It's a bit weird so i messaged the parents i knew and they were happy i was in the group. Weird. But i have to admit it is a pretty funny group.
