Q: Can I apply for z visa without a sponsor

I am about to leave my current job because the parents would like a teacher with European background. It is hard to find a job where I am living but cannot leave for many reasons. Also i am tired of kissing up to so many employers just to keep my job. What's more, so many schools had stolen my money, and messed up my visa. So, I want to pay moeny to purchase my own visa for work. I had done it before in Beijing 10 years ago and I co-worker had done it last year. i have since moved. So I ask is it still possible to "sponsor" oneself assuming all of the documents and paperwork are accurate?

Thank you for any replies!!

@Linfei78 Spider's answer is a simple one and the sort of a Gordian knot straight cut. I see your roller-coaster your through. That's what living in China unravels on a daily basis. That's the sort of the passion one gets familiar with from the very first days of living as a teacher and any professional in this great a country that is. I would look for an employer that gives me this feeling of security and joy to work for it. It is very motivating to know that you will spend of your personal resources, ideas, emotions, ideals and values in the benefit of your employer if that one shows something that makes you feel respected from the beginning and can help you with this worthiness on the long run. I know of employers who are the image of the wonderful side of people's country today. They are not many and it is a bless to find them. Since only through the employer you can get a legal Z Visa, keep inquiring, searching, seeking and hoping for that one who is happy to have a non European teacher to work with and know how to easy up the path including to the hearts of the parents. I know from my own experience that such employers are capable to change the mind of parents who still are biased by the origin of the teacher. Don't give up on your efforts. May you know that only an employer who extend you a contract with the associated paper work secures you a legal visa. Since that it the only way, "interview" the employer and have the courage to decide which one you would like to be yours. Secure good relation with any of those you might like and stay with the one that best impressed you. I hope you will find that one and I wish you all the best.

You did it before, didn't you?

Why did you ask the Q then since you know all ins and outs ...?

Phoney-baloney ... is a slang idiom, didn't you know? broken heart

No, you can't and ... you could never ever applied for Z visa without the sponsor, company registered in China with gov. permission to employ laowai!

echoing the above - "no"
if, as you claim, you have been in China for 10 years you would know this.

so many questions, so many holes.....

why would you want to stay working in a country that has allegedly "stolen your money" and "messed up your visa" "so many times"?

If a country did that to me twice (or even once) I would leave, unless you like being BSed.

also if you have "done this before" why are you here asking if it was possible?

sorry, but your story does not stack up.

Blondie, try some compassionate replying to the poster, will you. You can do it. Try to read through the poster's inquiries and to through the replying to Spider's NOPE so you can see that, unlike the evidences, there is some desperation there. So, try your best and show some sense of a neutral approach. Don't be just an echoing box but the one I see through your replying seeking some reasonable arguments. Just your way - do it likewise and wise with the poster inquiry. For once in a long time we have the chance to be of help and make this place more relevant to its purpose.

Why so many people are so nasty and think that they know damn everything? I said it has been a while. I have not done it in 12 years. I had also used the word "still". No Judge Judy for sure. Since then I had been EMPLOYED! This is China. Rules change faster than you can drop spilled milk. If the answer is "no" then it is "no." That is why I fuck-ing asked. And how do you know that I didn't do it before? Do you think I cannot know the difference between being employed or not? So you saying I am lying now? I During those two years I PAID with my OWN money WHILE NOT working to remain in China. It was 10,000 per year.

And NO, I do not know the "holes" becuase for one it WAS legal then. Next if i tried anything I would be out. AND I don't try to cheat the government. So, please stop trying to be so damn brainy and condisending from a reasonable question from a person you never even seen.   No wonder China wants us out. i wil lnot reply to any more remarks like the two above.

   Thanks

  Thank you.

Blondie_:

ouch !

first of all, calm down.

everyone knows that rules change.
in your original post you claimed " so many schools had stolen my money, and messed up my visa"

I suggest when you post, don't post under stress as things tend to become exaggerated. Just stick to the facts and reply calmly.

1) you claim a co-worker did this (purchased their own visa) last year.
did you ask them how they did it / any problems etc?
did you ask how it is working out and will they have to 'renew' their visa this year?

2) have you considered asking a Chinese relative to set up a company and sponsor you, maybe with you as co-director/owner or something?
this way you are 'employed' by your own company.
This i would have considered as my first option.

3) getting angry at people who don't give you the answer you are looking for is self-defeating (and actually quite 'Chinese')

4) you can chose to ignore things that 'upset' you on the forum, or 'chose' to be 'offended'

5) indecision

and to add to your question about visas Mr.  or Mrs. Brainy, everywhere you go as Rocky said there will be “hits” but you keep moving forward. I was not even complaining about that. Only one time did a school mess up my visa in 17 years! I have a friend here that is very ill. I saved his life again from a deadly illness that will be cured in just 4 weeks. Others will remain but many of the problems from the recently discovered one will vanish!

Most of my life in China has been great. I bought a house here. Healthcare is dirt cheap. I find more money in my couch than the cost for some visits. Violence is almost never. In America. the government cheats you in taxes and medical cost along with insurance. I do not see people leaving there in mass.

Now I rest my case and anything else is either self-explanatory or none of your business. I just asked about a visa. Not a public display of my dairy. This is a discussion board not a roast.

Again last time for this non-sense.≥............

I know of people who were doing what you describe. Pretty sure they've all moved on now though.

There was a govt official in a city I won't name - and I wouldn't be able to tell you how to contact him anyway -  who was providing this 'service'. For a fee he would get you a RP and you didn't need to be employed by anyone. The people doing this were working at lots of different places so weren't tied to any one school, or even city. The guys I knew weren't even in the same province as the official.

The problems with this were that :

1. Unless you had another source of income the people doing this still had to deal with the horrible employers.

2. Very dubious legally.  It seems like the kind of thing that could end at any time and might get you deported.

3. When the new visa system came in, the 'service' probably got a lot harder to pull off.

But where there's one official doing this there are probably more. The workmate you mentioned might have been doing the same thing.

I would keep looking for a decent school.

Answer of the DayMORE >>
A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
