Q: Can I get a credit card from a Chinese bank?
I was working in china last 2 years i have work visa can i apply Chinese bank credit card ?is it possible ?

I use mostly China Merchants Bank, and they offer CC to laowai. I tried to apply for it in Urumqi (2013), but after I got many forms out of my employer, banker told me, CC was denied, because I didn't reside in Urumqi, but in Fuk, 40km away. However, she knew that before she offered me to apply for CC.
I hold Visa CMB debit Gold account, which you can use the same as any Bank's Visa ATM card, except you can't make online purchases from non-Chinese websites.
You can make such purchases with CMB CC.
I shortened up all this BS and ask banker to book plane tickets for me and I gave her cash, as soon I got tickets confirmation.
