Sure, you can get a residency permit. That should be no problem. You can get them for 1-5 years usually.  ANything longer than 2 years i think you need a medical. The thing is you can't work on this visa. As for the "green card" visa...well you may be able to get one but you need to be pretty high up in society to get one...as in a good job, investments in china...things of that nature...you can always try. I think a lot of people just don't even attempt to get one...but never try so they never know...you can always try for it and see what happens. If that does not pan out.,... then you can always get the Q visa and that becomes a resident permit...you can come and go from China as you please, just can't legally work on it. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can get one.

you are right , its so difficult , unlike the Western Countries , just stay 5 years , then you get one .

when I married back in 2015 , I applied for Family Residence , they ask for Medical Check when I did from specific hospital , after all papers ready , I got 2 Years Residence , and in 2017 , when I applied for renew , they didnt ask for Medical Check , and also , results was another 2 Years , and in end of this year , I will renew , basicly , I suppose , I am going to get another 2 Years , but as I purchased apartment , last year , am not sure if they will give me longer period due to the property I have , they really dont have rules regarding this crying

I think you need need to ask them for a longer RP.I think if you specifically ask for 3-5 years visa they might give it to you. Especially if you already had a few visas before that. But as for the Green card visa the I think the minimum stay is 5 years prior to getting one...but i heard you need to show taxes paid and things like that. And I also think it depends on where you are..even the town or city...Provinces have their own things sometimes as do cities....its just depends...like you said..its just complicated...I guess all you can do if you do the local visa office and find out what you need and apply. Also some agents can help you get through the process and know some loopholes.

A:It's up to the employer if they want to hire you that's fine most cities today require you to take a health check every year when renewing the working visa if you pass the health check and you get your visa renewed each year I know teachers that are in their 70s and they're still doing great -- ironman510
