Q: Can I get rid of those horrible blue lights?

In all the rooms in our house with have those horrible doughnut shapped blue light bulbs. I hate them. They are so cold and make me feel like I'm living in an office or hospital. Is there any way to change. Do softer lights exist in the same shape? I'm thinking a warm yellow.

It's something that look like this right ? http://www.amazon.com/Philips-166017-22W830-Circular-Fluorescent/dp/B003XVSX3E

Phillips has some that gives a softer/warmer light. We have a couple of lamps with this type bulb, conceptually they hold the bulb the same way, but one of them is really difficult to get the bulb out from (it's a 2 person job) and the other one you just remove the shade and snap it off.

Don't recall where I got one of the soft light ones, but I think it was in a Vanguard.

Hint. Coldness/Blueness/Warmth/Yellowness of lightbulbs is meassured in "temperature" the unit is Kelvin. I like my light for living room at about 3000 Kelvin.

Hint. If you go cheap in these bulbs you get the blue light.

Find an Opple store or any big department store. You can get multi-colored lights, pink lights, orange...or yes, soft white, cool white or any other color your heart desires. Take your existing bulb with you though, there's a million shapes and sizes so tis better to be safe than sorry.
