Q: Can I get a work visa if I'm only short a couple months of post-grad work experience?
In 3 months I'll have reached a full 2 years of work experience after graduating. I've got a few pretty good offers on the table now, but what I keep hearing is that I'll have to be on a tourist or business visa if I want to employed now (starting in February/March). Is this true? I just feel stuck. I really want to begin my new career ASAP, especially since I'm already in the middle of having my degree stamped and verified and getting my FBI background check done. What should I do?

Coming here on a tourist or business visa to work is risky! Plus you won't be able to add those months of work experience to your resume to make it up to two years if you've been working illegally! So you'll still have this problem next time you want to change jobs.
You really are better working for another 3 months to get the full two years on your resume.

Those jobs don't hire legally. Think! If you want to work illegally then do it and join the list of those screwed over with no legal recourse. If you want to work legally then stop making excuses. In America, when you knowingly enter the country illegally they say you're the victim and give you citizenship. Not in China, do it the right way!

Don't. You are taking a big risk. The schools and/or the recruiting companies don't care.
If you get caught working on a non-work visa then you get fined and told to stop working until you get the work visa (if your lucky and white skinned). The schools won't pay you when your not working. In the event you are extradited you won't see any money. Meanwhile everybody else gets paid. I know. I changed schools last semester. It took the recruiting company 4 weeks to get the FEC I was told I could not work during that time.
When I went to the PSB to register I was told once again not to work until I have the work visa with the correct city. The school wasn't happy because I could not start the day I arrived, so canceled their contract with the recruiter. Obviously the recruiter wasn't happy. The recruiter said it was my fault and didn't get me another school.
My point is that it takes time to get the proper documents and during that time you cannot LEGALLY work. The new grading system introduced by SAFEA reduces the number of FTs who would be willing to teach in a backward country.
