Of course you could if you wanted, but the hard part will be to find an instructor and also a board.  I have been to Sanya many times, and I have never seen anyone surfing there.  Maybe it is for a combination of reasons, among them not many Chinese know how to swim, and many fear deeper water.  Also waves in Sanya look good, but too close to shoreline for a good ride.

On my couple of last trips, I saw places who provide a snorkeling and / or scuba diving trip with air tanks.  It was funny to see them dress up with all the gear, including rubber suits, flips, etc, and walk along the beach towards a pier to board the boat with flips on the loose sand.

I've been wanting to surf for the last three years. No one told me China had waves...I don't know how consistent the waves are but now that you mention surfing in Sanya I will go there and surf. I don't know when though...probably only late August. I know you can buy surf boards, rash vests and sex wax on taobao. Good luck on getting an instructor and I wish you many slow wide turns sista.

A:I ain't sure if this will help, but I used to say ...:"Don't stop sending your CVs, not even if you already have an interview invitation!" MS degree is completed online ... That might be the reason 'cause I don't think employer in China can secure legal Working permit by presenting degree completed online. TEFL Course completed online was/is acceptable, but I'm not sure about your MS ... Have a look at the requirements for Z visa in China ...  Good luck! -- icnif77
