What are the restrictions if any?

You can sneak in up to 5 litres in your stomach & liver.  but u might wake up dead.

anyways,,, who likes baijiu?  I kinda like it sometimes for that crazy kick, that burning sensation like you have just taken a shot of really strong liquor.  but for that same kick, I'd rather a shot of mezcal (sp?) tequila, scotch, bourbon, just about any of them compared to baijiu.  to me it kinda stinks and the aftertaste isn't pleasant.  but I guess bringing some to someone for the novelty factor....

You can take up to 1 liter... that you purchase in the airport duty free.  Make sure to leave some spare room in your luggage, and bring waterproof bags (if you have to transfer to a domestic flight in USA, it has to get packed into your checked luggage)

At least , this is how it was when I flew home in 2011.

You can pack as much as you want/can carry in your checked bags. The limits mentioned above are for carry on (unless the rules changed from when I was last flying Stateside).

Though, a better question would be why you would want to take baijiu to the States.

mike695ca:

This is dumb as hell.  Your telling people that the last time you flew you could legally bring as much alcohol and tobacco as you could carry??   Which airline did you use? Spirit of St. Louis??

You can take one liter.

https://united-states.visahq.com/customs/

and its always been that way,

if you want to bring more you have a few options,  bringing in a few small bottles of baiju that equal a LITTLE BIT MORE THAN A LITER  is almost always ok.  They dont care.

If you want to bring larger amounts then  you have to declare it and let the customs and duty guys decide if they want you to pay duty.

"There is no federal limit on the amount of alcohol someone may import into the U.S. for personal use, however, large quantities might raise the suspicion that the importation is for commercial purposes, and a CBP Officer could require you to obtain an Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) import license before releasing it."

Seriously, don't try to be sarcastic... you just end up looking dumber (well, more so than usual, with the abuse of caps lock and disregard for punctuation, spelling, and grammar).

I flew with three bottles of 750 ml, on a major airline. I checked the bottle in my baggage (didn't bring any tobacco, but that's not relevant to the question).

This also has information about duty and excise.

You moron. Its your link! And its about IMPORTING ALCOHOL!!! As in paying duties on the whole lot. Like more than he pays for the baijiu. Which is clearly stated in my post. Yes he can bring as much as he wants in and the customs will tell him how much. Based on the alcohol content as per YOUR LINK. Anyone with a brain could see the difference. They could also see what he meant, as in bringing a few bottles for gifts. Not getting a fucking import license for businesses.

Please write in English. It makes it much easier to understand. Nothing was clearly stated in your post. It was rambling, filled with errors, and just made up of emotional outbursts and childish insults. Perhaps to you that is considered "clearly stated", but to adults, it's difficult to wade through.

Congratulations, though, for adopting face culture. You're fitting in well the way you, when confronted with evidence of your error, get emotional and angry, while refusing to admit error.

Wow good for you. you surprised me! In the face of being wrong you went after my English instead of just never coming back to this post. Not predictable at all. People like you are my favorite. You really have nothing else going for you other than your percieved intelligence so being wrong is the worst fucking thing in the world. You guys just cant accept it. Whereas people like me, who have fulfilling lives dont need to fuck up these forums with shitty information in the name of fealing good about myself. Im wrong all the time. And when proven i cop to it. Can you??? Can you admit that the poster was asking about the alcohol limits allowed duty free? And at first you totally shit the bed and said the limits given where only for carry on??? Haha. And then when called out you gave a nice link about importing alcohol??? Or will you ignore all of these points and talk about English? Say you cant understand it. Or maybe just never return? Your done dealing with this clown. Haha. I eagerly await.

You're inability to read and write at a level above high school was only part of my criticism, but I can tell I struck a nerve (if you really are sensitive about it, you can do things to improve your ability, like see an English tutor). If you can write intelligently, however, it will be easier to take you seriously (also, calling people names doesn't really help with appearing mature).

I'm glad that you have a fulfilling life, bullying farmers and looking down on poor people, as you have indicated as favorite hobbies in past posts. And I'm sure you are so comfortable and secure in your life that you have to go on this board to insult people who disagree with you, and show everyone how cool you are.

I do have much more going for me, but don't feel so insecure in my life that I need validation from people online, hence, it's not worth it to try convincing you (or anyone else).

I provided evidence that countered your emotional outburst, and you responded by fuming about your poor English ability (which, unless it is a learning disability, is something you really can fix, if you are sensitive about it).

I presented facts. You presented emotion and childish name calling. When you are ready to behave like an adult, we can engage in discussion. Until then, you can keep telling yourself that you are so awesome, and name calling anyone who disagrees.

Which facts did you present?? Correct ones im talking. That the limit we were reffering to was for carry on?? Is that a fact? Or was it your link for people who wish to import alcohol?? Aparently you do not know the difference between importing and shopping. Fact: i as well as others told him and provided links that he is allowed to bring in 1 liter duty free. Fact: you didnt like this and found totally irrelevant information about importing alcohol ( where he wouldnt have any duty free allowance mind you). Can you truly not see the difference?? Or are you so ashamed that you are wrong you are going to steer this conversation in a million directions. Lets forget about this other stuff. Im a moron who cant spell and your poor and useless. We are past that. Lets help this guy out shall we. Do you stand by what you said that the 1 liter limit we are talking about being for carry on??? Do you disagree with our interpretation of the question and he is in fact looking to pay duty?? Do you truly see my link and information as incorrect?? Because if I am wrong as you say Ill admit it. All im asking is that you help me understand your point of view on this topic. Because I am really confused.

"There is no federal limit on the amount of alcohol a traveler may import into the U.S. for personal use"

People can bring as much as they want, subject to duty fees (states can set their own limits for personal use, but there is no federal limit).

Opinions are not facts. Simply stating that something is a fact, does not make it so.

I posted a link, and stated facts. I understand that you are confused, but I can't really help simplify it more. I have taught reading comprehension before in China, but there are limits to what I can do.

Admit it or not, it doesn't matter. You can keep your pride, and state that you were right. I posted information for the benefit of the original poster, and don't really care about proving anything to you.

You can argue semantics all you want you still look stupid. Its right there. You said the limit of one liter is for carry on. When anyone who has every flown since 9/11 would know that the liquid limit for carry on is 100ml. You are just talking out of your ass. Still. Does he seem like some guy thats importing a few crates of wine for his cellar??? This is why your link mentions courier services. While mine mentions duty free limits for baggage. Your shitty link could have got him in trouble. All so you can feel smart. Massive fail. Ive mentioned it ten times but you still ignore it. You just cant admit you where ever wrong huh?? You talk English but you sure had trouble understanding the meaning of your own link. Id stay away from the comprehension lessons. Stick to the ass wiping kindergartens.

Baijiu is supposed to be available for export now. Maybe you can already buy it stateside, or just buy a liter of gasoline and add a whole durian to that.

I have done that before without any problems, but I chose the ones that for a bottle they had glass figurines packed in a golden looking box. Since the liquid inside is crystal clear, and they are totally full, it is very hard to see that they are full of baijiu inside.
I always took from 3 to 5 and never had an once of problem, not even a question.
My suggesion to you is to try and do the same.
