Greetings expats,
I'm considering coming to China as someone who has spent many years in ESL. However, I am firmly against all Covid-19
vaccinations. I actually think the mRNA and Adeno vector vaccines are more dangerous than Sinovac's traditional shot, but
I oppose all jabs, as I believe vaccine passports are immoral.
My question is for those currently teaching in China. Do you believe it will be possible to work as in teacher in China
in the comming years without getting injected?
Regards,
Sam
1. As soon as you land a job ask your employer about required procedure at the entry to China.
2. You could also ask the same Q at the Chinese Embassy in your country. Email message will work fine and I think, that will be the most reliable information about entry to China.
You'll need to visit Chino Embassy for the Z visa stamp. You might find the requirements for entry to China at the Chinese Embassy's website ...
I'd say, entry to China without vaccine cert. will require 14-days quarantine. You pay the seclusion cost , hotel and food ... I've never thought about the facing the students and being non-vaccinated ...
Chinese borders are still closed for the outside world, so take your time.

Probably you won't be forced to get that shot until you're landed in China. Then the process to making you get the vaccine it will be a piece of cake. 80% of theChina's population is planned, meaning under the threat to lose jobs if they miss the jabs. Never better said. So, don't mis you jab or you'll miss the job. That could serve for a commercial to blackmailing employers. Actually, they're already doing it. It seems that the Government doesn't enforce it, but the local ones do.
Dont know where they got those answers from, you DO need two shot Chinese vaccine done at least 15 days prior to travel, but, you wont be entering anyway as ESL teachers are not considered essential workers. I have been here 17 years, double vaccinated 5 moonths ago, coulfnt even get an ETD to go home and bury my mother and was firmly told i would be denied entry, as if i am leaving my wife a kid behind.
I know this woman who is a victim of domestic abuse. Her husband is very authoritative. He tells her who she can be friends with, and who she can't. He decides which family members are allowed to make contact, and who's not allowed. Recently, he forced her to quit her job and stay at home "for her own good" because he knows what's good for her.
He keeps detailed tabs on her, where she goes, who she's with, and recently warned her that if she walks more than 5km (3 miles) from home, that he will beat her up. She thought he was joking, until he really physically beat her up, choked her to the ground, and called 4 of his buddies to help him. All five of them nailed her to the ground until they almost broke her arm - for walking a few yards more than 5km from where he permitted her to go. He then forced and locked her inside a walk-in closet for days, telling her it was her fault and that she forced him to behave the way he did.
Having no income, since he forced her to quit her job "for her own good", she is now completely dependent on him. Not only does he physically abuse her if she travels more than 5km from her home, he keeps abusing her verbally, emotionally and psychologically by telling her that she's "non-essential".
This behaviour drove her to the point of suicide, and she called upon a friend to help her pray to God, asking The Lord for help. When he heard her pray, he beat her up again, telling her that he will not allow any religious activities, and that it was for her own good.
He then told her he knows what she needs to be fixed. He called his drug-lord friends and told her that if she wants freedom from this prison, she must take this cocktail of drugs, and if she refuses, there will be consequences. She took the drugs as told, and was promised that after only two hits, she'd be free to live a normal life again.
Nothing happened. When she asked what the hell, he told her he's sorry, but there's a new problem. Because she did not follow all his demands, it was her fault that there was a new situation that is now forcing his hand to force a 3rd and a 4th drug on her.
Oh gosh, I'm sorry, did I say husband? I meant, the government!! It is only abuse if a woman's husband does it, but not when the government does it to us!

What about .gov ?? Did she report it?
I mean, if that's in UK and not Pakistan or Angola, she should be helped ...

I think I know that woman. She's had a bad run with that husband of hers but it gets worse, did you hear what happened to her yesterday?
He got drunk and really went to town on her, broke her ribs and jaw and there's possible internal damage from being kicked in the stomach. After he'd left and she'd regained consciousness she was able to crawl to the phone to call for an ambulance - the problem is no ambos were available but if she was able to wait they'd try to get there as soon as they could, apparantly they were run off their feet and having to prioritise their calls- she was still able to breath so she was further down the list than the countless other calls they were getting.
She called a good friend instead and her friend drove around immediately and carried her out to the car, she took her to all the hospitals in the area but the hospitals were unable to help her, they were overwhelmed by dozens of people showing up in critical condition and needing urgent care.
Apparantly a pandemic had hit town - some new virus. Most people who caught it survived if they were otherwise healthy but there are enough people in every society who, for whatever reasons aren't in the prime of their life and they were susceptible. Luckily there was as shot you could take that would mostly guarantee that while you might catch the virus it wouldn't put you in hospital. The hoardes of patients flooding the hospitals hadn't had the shot....
It turned out the government knew this could happen when the virus emerged and, hospitals being extremely important, they tried to contain the virus -stop people spreading it by use of masks and social distancing - to save the health system being over run. The problem was that others in society had decided they should be allowed to give the virus to anyone they pleased. It only kills the elderly they cried, I'm not elderly so why should I have to inconvenience myself.
I hope she's ok. As far as I know her friend is still driving her around trying to find someone who can help her. She's in a lot of pain obviously and there seems to be internal bleeding....
sorrel:
the woman has found that the hospitals are being 'over-run' by others, like her, who did what they were told by their husbands, followed the 'rules', no matter how illogical they were.
She does what she is told every day but it is never enough.
it is her fault.

Yes, you're right, partly at least. This thing has been a shitshow from day one. And the thing is I understand and have sympathy for everyone's (well almost everyone) point of view.
Scientists : This is what's likely to happen and this is what we need to do to prevent it... they were right but in most cases were ignored. Nobody liked the inconvenient truth.
Governments : If we listen to the scientists we'll hurt the economy and our corporate masters - people need to eat and pay their bills and more importantly they might not vote for us next time round.. they weren't wrong either, in some countries they simply can't lockdown without their people literally starving and with some of their supporters anything other than outright science denial and acting against all common sense will mean they'll stop supporting that politician.
People : We don't trust the government or the corporations that own the government and we only have a handful of cases here, that's nothing, a guy on youtube said it's just a flu anyway so why disrupt people's lives?... that's understandable too.
So we had politicians disregard the science and try to either ignore the problem or deal with it the same way they deal with environmental and climate issues - half arsed measures that look like they're doing something but are ultimately pointless, and they knew it. The people who couldn't afford to lockdown, or who didn't want to inconvenience themselves were happy to ignore the science and go with the politicians who assured them they could live normally and still avoid the fallout, or if that wasn't possible to half arse it, albeit with a lot of whinging.
And so just like the scientists told us it would, it spread, mutated and became a monster.
Looking back it's easy to see why it played out the way it did, everybody wanted the hopium, nobody wanted to do what it took to stamp the virus out and once it got political it became a ridiculous bitching match.
What I don't understand at this point though is why, when people can see how bad it can get they still refuse to listen to the scientists AND the politicians who try to stop it getting worse, pretty much guaranteeing it will continue to spread, mutate, kill tens of thousands of people and overwhelm the hospital system.

Is this kind of by-product of the lock-downs?
I mean, doesn't matter what, I'd say women in West should be protected against such an abuse ...

I know one person from the company I work for said he hasn't done his two vaccines as he is scared of needle. Do you guys think he still can teach?
icnif77:
"No, it will be impossible to teach non-vaccinated .. Not even online!", I read at Zero ...
Loads of info about China-women und men at ZeroHedge ...
icnif77:
Him or manager of the school, who let him be among the students ... Most likely both of them.
I don't know how is in China with refusing of Cofid inoculation, but in West looks very threatening to all vaccine refusniks.
JohnsonZHANG6868:
He is the director of studies in the company I work for (which is partnered with university) ... but he shouldn't teach though if he hasn't done both his vaccines...

BEIJING (AP) — A city in southern China that is trying to contain a coronavirus outbreak told the public Sunday not to leave town, suspended bus and train service and closed cinemas, bars and other facilities.
Anyone who needs to leave Putian, a city of 2.9 million people in Fujian province south of Shanghai, for an essential trip must have proof of a negative coronavirus test within the past 48 hours, the city government announced.
China declared the coronavirus under control in early 2020 but has suffered outbreaks of the more contagious delta variant. Authorities say most cases are traced to travelers arriving from Russia, Myanmar and other countries.
In Putian, 19 new infections that were believed to have been acquired locally were reported in the 24 hours through midnight Saturday, according to the National Health Commission. One was reported in Quanzhou, also in Fujian.
The first cases in Putian were students from Xianyou county, but experts suspect the outbreak might have originated with the father of one student who returned from Singapore on Aug. 4, according to the official Global Times newspaper.
The traveler, identified by the surname Lin, underwent a 14-day quarantine and nine nucleic acid and serologic tests, all of which were negative, the Global Times said, citing local authorities. It said he tested positive on Friday.
Residents of villages in Xianyou where infections were found were barred from leaving, the newspaper said.
Bus and train service to Putian was suspended Saturday, Global Times said.
I see a lot of kind of iffy answers and 1-2 solid ones. I would caution you on several things. The first being NOT asking about not getting the vaccine and coming to China. The central government (and by proxy local governments) have basically declared all out war on the virus so vaccines are a must say they are going by historic and scientific data that proves vaccines are efficient. That means in order for them to even THINK about letting you into the country, you at the bare minimum need to do that. Secondly, they have seen the utter failure of western governments to stem the viral outbreak because of fanciful and misinformed opinions about vaccines and they do NOT want to import that kind of thinking into the country. Whatever it is you do, and you're an ESL teacher, is NOT worth the headache you could cause then when they deport you for a related reason. They'd rather not even deal with it.
That said, Asia (read: East Asia and South East Asia i.e. Singapore) is VERY concerned about minimizing cases in their respective countries and territories (HK and Macau). So any antivaxxers or antivax sentiment is dimly looked upon and will be enough to get you blacklisted indefinitely (if they discover that this is your pov). In their estimation, the lack of the antivaxxer element in their countries enabled then to quickly and effectively cut down cases and return their respective countries to some semblance of normalcy (at least within their borders).
That said, your best source of information would be to contact the local Chinese consulate and voice your concerns and they'll give you the most updated information. However, PLEASE do NOT come to China with that mentality. Keep your "freedom" in the United States or wherever you're from (definitely would bet that you're American lol). We don't need anymore foreigners giving us all a bad name and making things difficult.
Just my two cents.
Not meant to be a personal attack. Just an answer to your question and my personal opinion.
No - you cant board a plane to China without being tested for Covid at a govvernment authorised testing place or having being vaccinate to come to China. By the way - good luck fighting the Covid using your own natural immunity (I hope its prepared for the onslaught) I definitely know my immunity system is much better prepared than yours because I got vaccinated as soon as I could.
To be bluntly honest, there is no real room for vaccine scepticism here - and certainly not from foriegners coming over on year long Z-Visas.
That and you will be controlled wherever you go and what you do via phone apps and you will be scanned in and out of malls, university/school gates etc - the school will probably ask you if you have been vaccinated during the interview and anything other than a positive response will see you out of the door.
