Q: Can a marriage visa be converted into a Z visa in China without going back to your home country?

You could get reliable info about changing visas at PSB in the city.

This is a BS method icnif77, if you go to the PSB they will only hand you a piece of paper stating your options. Next you forgot to include phase 1 and phase 1 is to get an expert certificate over at the Labor Department because of what a lot of people don't know is that the Labor Department is the one who gives you the access to get a resident permit.so you can't get a residents permit unless you hand in all of your documents, degree, certificate to the Labor Department. You won't be allowed to get a working permit unless you go through the Labor Department first, so going to the PSB is just a waste of time. FYI and the PSB doesn't give Z visa's. only the Chinese consulate can give you this visa. the PSB only gives you the resident permit. everyone always forgets about the Labor Department.
I know this for a fact, the answer is sadly "NO"! And there is no such thing as a marriage visa in China, only 3 things it could be:
1. L Family visiting visa
2. Wife sponsored you a resident permit at the PSB to stay in China without leaving.
3. Or the famous green card also known to all of us as D visa. And yes you can work legally on this anywhere you damn well please and you don't need a z visa if you got a green card.

Oh yes yes miracles do happen, but only in Hong Kong, if you get lucky. No harm in trying. Find a legal school, get hired, survive for 1 to 3 month's in China while waiting for your criminal background check or FBI record and take all documents and health check to Forever Bright in Hong Kong and they MIGHT be able to get you a Z visa.

Hi there, Not sure as to why! however I am married and have had a 'Q' visa issued. I am aware of the L,F,Z,D and so on However this is the first time in 7 years I have acquired a Q visa.

Q visa is a new class of visa. It was started on Sept,31st 2013.

Did you take your Q visa into the PSB and get that Q visa converted into a Family Resident permit yet? If so, could you share your whole story with us from top to bottom, alot of us are waiting to learn from someones experience like yours. Like what city, How many years did you get, how much money did your wife need to have in the account, how to did you get the Q visa and was it easy?

I'm just trying to help you out if you didn't already know. After getting a Q visa you must take into the PSB and get it converted into a Resident Permit.. I heard the years you get is based off the money your wife has in the account and owning a house can help.
