Q: Can my family send me a cell Phone?
My family in the U.S wants to send me a cell phone, will Chinese customs take it away and never give it to me?

It will not be taken away from you, but make sure it is sent using a traceable means (e.g. something that doesn't end up with China Post)
Also, remember to ask "Can I send a cell phone battery via airmail?" as rechargeable batteries are not liked on board some modes of transport.
But why? Why not just go down to the local China Mobile and buy a phone or order a Xiaomi phone from www.xiaomi.com ? Keep in mind that China Mobile (not the only operator but..) doesn't use the same frequencies as US based operators, so you risk ending up with a crippled 2G phone. Using China Unicom can prevent this but I still think you should rethink the whole thing and also stop posting anon.

A Nexus what version ? Let me tell you something about Zhuhai. The temperature is now up so the short skirts have come out and the women are looking a lot more slutty that in the horrid northern parts of China. If you come to Zhuhai I would certainly consider taking that evil Nexus phone off your hands for a decent second hand price provided it is a 4 or 5.

Custom will call you and ask you to pay custom Duty.. thats all.. after that you can recieve you cell phone
maybe I am stupid ..but WHY?? ... buy a phone ....sim card from US will be useless....
I know I am tech illiterate.... but I do think this is silly...
The phone from home must be carrier unlocked, and any quick reliable mail service will be expensive and there will be duty of the phone. It would be cheaper to buy something in China.
Hong Kong would be a better place to buy.
