Just wondering, legally, if police could mediate in case landlord didn't want to give back deposit (even though everything is in stellar condition and all the rent was previously paid)
i have been living in China for more than ten years. a few times i needed Chinese police help, they have been excellent on solving these kind of small daily matters.
be calm and not arrogant while talking to them and they will be reciprocal, for sure!
good luck!
Yes they can. In fact, it is part of their duties to act as mediators. Just be sure to bring a friend who can interpret for you unless you speak the language well. Also, any documentation like contract, receipts etc. can help.
On the downside, if the landlord "says" he will return your deposit "tomorrow", this could go on indefinitely. The police, for the most part will not give him a time limit nor al ultimatum.
Good Luck!!
Of course you could offer 25% to anyone who can extract it from the landlord. If you make the offer in the appropriate area you are sure to get a result. Of course that result may be a visit from the police!
Tell them you naturally understand there is an administrative service fee to get your money back.... wink wink
of course they can ,just tell the lord you will call 110 if he refuses to give your money back.
