Q: Can the PSB check criminal convictions of foreigners in China?

Instead of having to get a CNCC from one's home country, couldn't the PSB do a record check themselves in China?

What is the reasoning for keeping our passports for 15 business days? This to me is the logical explanation. If my application passes muster with the labor bureau, why does the PSB need to hold the passport for so long?

No, they won't! Some big cities might accept it IF you have never left China while on a working permit BUT this only applies to Americans because most of us had to come here with an FBI record anyway, I did 5 years in Shenzhen,Soif you came here with an FBI record and never stopped renewing your working visa, hey it might logically work, MAYBE..

But most will require an FBI check or a security check from your home country.

Not in Shenzhen. My city is not requiring for now CNCC for renewal, and wonder if the PSB will do a check on me or anyone else, which to me is the reason for the three week wait.

I'm also in Shenzhen, yeah waiting for those 3 weeks sucked, so you think thats why they didn't ask us for a new FBI?

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
