Q: Can the PSB do foreign background checks?

That is my question, instead of me going home to get the Non Criminal paper, can the PSB do the background check themselves? As in the Entry-Exit Bureau.

Has anyone been denied a renewal because of failing a background check from the PSB? If they have, then there is little use in getting the background paper. Or are they checking their records inside China itself?

Thank you.

Asking the exact same question every 15 minutes doesn't change the answer...and the answer, to put it politely, is no.

Do the police in your home country do backgrounds checks for, say, countries in Africa?

Common sense dictates that your own police in your own country do the background checks.

Of course they can do background.

Every government in the world is delighted to allow China total access to their computer systems.

Incidentally, do you have something to hide? That pic of you blowing a goat wasn't that bad.

Yes, now Edward Snowden showed the Chinese the secret way to access all criminal records everywhere.

So now, for only 12 RMB, the PSB can check all your records anywhere. AND, if there are any 'difficulties' or 'mistakes' in your records, the PSB can fix them for you in China for a small additional fee. Or throw you in jail if you're short on cash.

The PSB can check their records easily.

If you are required to produce a background certificate of good standing from your home country, then it needs to come from your home country.

That way, if it turns out you are a bad person, the PSB can say foreign countries are sending their waste here.

Sort of makes sense when one thinks about it. Put the onus of responsibility on the source nation. Don't forget, China is a developing nation. It's up to the developed nations to prove their people are good.

A foreign background check in the U.S. is easy, as they can just run your name through a database and check it. Many companies in the U.S. compile this data and offer background check services for about $39.99 or less.

However, these background checks don't typically contain the amount of data that an FBI background check will include, if any. An FBI background check is more thorough, and they don't screw around with terrorists. This helps to keep a lot of nutjobs out of China.

Unfortunately,  you may have to return home to get one unless you can have someone request it for you with your permission. However, you will need to have them send the original, notarized copy back to China. I had a background check done before leaving China, and they were able to use it even though the six months had expired as I wasn't in America at the time.

It's an annoying inconvenience to those of us who aren't criminals, but it helps to keep pedophiles out of China to protect Chinese children. Think of it: the less western pedophiles and criminals in China, the less problems us normal people will have in China.

No, the PSB cannot do foreign background checks. When you ask this same question in a week or two the answer will remain the same.
