I am talking about those who china's new visa law are supposed to attract here. Who are they? Does being an architect or an accountant makes me eligible to become an "expert"?
To be an expert you need to have expertise in a particular field. Doesn't matter what you do. You can be an expert at picking up leaves. The possibilities can be endless!
Or an expert wumao on an expat forum. Endless, yes.
But if you want to see what an expert looks like just look at my personal photo on my avatar!
Take a look at my avatar then you will see one. I am an accountant with a UK based set of clients so I class myself as a professional as do my clients some of whom hve been with me for almost twenty years. If you have to ask such a dumb-ass question then clearly you have about as much idea of professionalism as most other Chinese.

my question was intentionally ironic and it seems that you werent smart enough to understand it, u arrogant underdeveloped ape
Nicholas: If you have to ask, then obviously you'll never be one. Don't worry your little head about it.
nicholasba:
traveler, being a professional in my language is different than being an expert. Now go back to ur teaching job.
Traveler:
When you become an expert, you will understand that terminology in the Chinese vernacular of English, as in all varieties of English, is different than the Standard English you probably try to impose on your students.
By the way, you seem to assume I teach English. In fact, I train people to become accredited TESOL teachers, at an Australian university. Drop in some time. I'll give you some pointers.
I am self employed with around 25 years of experience in my field. I have a fully registered WFOE in China through which I am eligible for a work permit and RP. I carry out supplier improvement projects related to food safety and quality, food business inspections & audits and offer food safety related corporate training packages to companies who wish to export. I am paid for my services usually by overseas clients that wish to import food commodities from China or Asia Pacific. Whether that qualifies me as an "expert" or indeed "critical need expert" as stated in the new visa guidelines is for others to judge. As an aside, I have no input or responsibility whatsoever in food destined for the Chinese domestic market so please do not link 2 + 2 together and aim criticism at me for the perceived state of food quality and safety here. I can only do what I am allowed to do. And apparently, China doesn't need foreigners to help them sort these problems out. They can do it themselves, so I am told.
99Sparkey looks like an expert, actually ''The'' expert.
