Stereotypes is one thing.

Let's look at it from an oxymoron perspective:

Chinese national with open mind = oxymoron

Well, that really depends.

I find that many Chinese women have stereotypes but can be coerced into seeing the other side of things if they are willing to have an open mind.

But most have a limit point and once you hit it, you will know and get insanely frustrated. There are a few that are willing to trade in face and pride to admit Chinese are not the greatest in everything and have something to learn from a foreigner/foreignland... but like HappyExPat says... they are usually quickly taken and hidden or imported haha.

It all depends on many aspects.

If you live in the big city so you can probably select from several hundred thousands of girls - provided you speak fluent Chinese.

If you do not so you can select just from several tens and most of them were already 'studied' and dropped by other Westerners.

In such a case it's hard to find your 'soul mate'.

On top of that you shall get ready to different ladder of values, different habits and practices.

You may call them stereotypes if you want ...

If you want a Chinese girl having more or less similar values and habits like you so the best you can do is to go to your home country and start frequenting some of the China towns ...

I was always wondering why people believe that their values are the best and all the others should learn from them (this was also the principal of 'spreading the democracy' in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria etc. - not exactly success).

Chinese have simply different background, bringing up and education than Westerners. Those who will present themselves as Western culture lovers and followers will mostly just pretend that ...

And even for those few who will mean it frankly, it's not totally clear how much they really understand from Western culture and how much is just their illusion.

My very good friend lives in Europe for about 7 years already. She is Chinese, likes Europe very much and does not like much the Chinese environment.

But many her views are certainly not European ...

The offer of an iPhone opens their minds. The purchase of an iPhone opens other things.

Just keep a brand new " spare" iPhone in your jeans pocket.

Her: " Is that an iPhone in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?".

You: " Yes... And yessssss".

Problem solved.

If if you don't want stereotypes, just delete that app from the phone surprise
