Q: Can student visa be extended without you being in school?

Can a student visa get an extension without being in school? Is it also possible to exit to another country with a student visa and come back with another visa?

Below is what you must have to extend your student visa :

 X Visa Extension

"X" visa extension is usually easy. Normally international students will have their X visa extended by the China universities they study at, and they can also get help from visa service agencies.

1. Current Students

Current students who need their X visa extended must submit the following materials: tuition bills, Current Study Certificate, transcripts and valid passport. Usually the international student office of the university will inform students to prepare for the procedure in advance.

If you are not in school, then you can not present documents from the scholl in order to get the visa extension.  And yes, you can exit China using your current student visa before expiration date, and get anothe at your country of origen anbd return to China

You don't need to exit to change an X to L and sometimes X to Z. If you are no longer in School but can talk with the school to help you, that would be better.

Depending on what province you are in, you are able to transfer your visa status as long as you have the correct paperwork. Good luck

A:My friends who are managing schools still can't recruit from outside of China because of the borders being closed, as far as I know that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. If you have a current existing residence permit etc you can re-enter the country, going through the usual quarantine process obviously but no new visas are being issued. I don't know about business visas but I suspect it wouldn't be much different. For up to date info you could probably contact the Chinese embassy in your country. -- Stiggs
