Q: Can Union Pay debit cards be used in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines?

I'd like to take a little trip.  It seems like spending money, earned in China, anywhere besides China is a hassle.  Has anyone use Union Pay debit cards elsewhere?

You could get right info at the Bank, where you're holding an account. Chinese bankers mostly speak English.

I used my UnionPay cards in Thailand this past February, no problems. Shows your account in baht, so you could be a millionaire!

Yup, UnionPay = no money problems in Thailand, but not all ATMS accept UnionPay. Find one near you that does, and if you're going out in the countryside it might be a good idea to take enough baht to last until you return to a big city.

Had no problems using the card all over Asia. But I am having to make some bank transfers for my up and coming trip to Australia. Don't think the card will work there. Does anybody know?
