Q: Can you recommend some good Satellite providers?
In the Guangdong region, lots of English channels.
If I were you, I will not consider a satellite option. Let me explain what happened to me.
I bought a satellite dish and box, installed, for 1600 yuan. But the bracket for the dish was not included, so add 100 yuan. Got maybe 195 channels. After one year usage it stopped working, called supplier and he informed me must pay (never said anything before) 800 yuan per year to see channels. So, I refused.
Looked in Taobao and found a small electronic box that connects to Internet and TV for 385 yuan + 15 shipping. It gets over 500 channels from many countries.
Best part is that I have used it for 4 years now without paying a penny extra.

Typical Chinese way of doing business!
Once I was in Jixian, Hebei, I went to Panshan mount with Chinese friend, some 2h walk up-hill for 100 Rmb per person entrance fee. It seemed expensive, because mount is dirty and neglected as 'park' shouldn't be.
When we arrived on the top, we sat down and relax for an hour.
We were ready to go back to the valley, but all exits down the mountain were closed. We couldn't even return by the same path, we came up.
Only way from the mount was by gondola for 180 Rmb per person.'meiyou walk home, you're too tired'

It is not a modem/router, it is some sort of decoder that receives the channel signal thru Internet. You connect it to he modem and to the TV and get over 500 channels. One thing do, get one with the largest memory you can afford (less stopping for buffering), and ,ake ure to askt that there is no yearly fee.
If I have time, will try to ge the Taobao address tomorrow
Hi:
As promised, here is the Taobao location of the decoder I got. It is a 4 K one, good for 500 + channels, chinese, english, spanish, french, italian, german, korean, japanese, etc. Good thing is that some of them have english subtitles, others do not.

As I said, from here seek for one that suits you, but get nothing less than 4K, or you will be buffering all the time.
A warning do, you will need at least a 2K Internet connection. Since in China real download speed is a lot less than advertised, I do recommend you go for at least 4, maybe even 8 if you want to watch movies without them " freezing up" every few minutes. I am at 4, will upgrade to 8 next contract with phone company, mine does freeze some days. My real dowload speed, especially at night, goes from about 3600 to 1695 or so.
There are a lot of US shows online now. Lots of UK ones too.
Either use a VPN with it's target hub in your home country, or just settle for Youkou.
